Decades of combined marine and aviation safety experience
John Roberts - Project Manager
I've been with Survitec Group for 14 years. Today I'm the point
of contact for government agencies including the Royal New Zealand
Navy and Royal New Zealand Airforce, as well as distributors and
service stations throughout the Pacific.
Survitec Group stocks a large, sophisticated range that requires
professional consultation and presentation to ensure products are
correctly specified and meet various regulatory requirements (such
as those of New Zealand Maritime Authority, Yachting New Zealand,
MCA, ISAF and CAA).
Most of my experience revolves around work with commercial
shipping, the fishing industry, passenger vessels and super yachts.
If you need complete safety packages for motor yachts and mega
yachts ranging from the MCA compliant to the high tech, come talk
Dave Chapman - National Sales Manager
I've been with Survitec Group since 2003. After two years as a
Liferaft Service Technician, I progressed to first become the
Nelson Branch Manager, and then Regional Manager, in 2006. In this
role I look after the day-to-day running of the three branches
outside Auckland and associated sales area from Napier/New Plymouth
I'm also the Quality Manager, with responsibility for ensuring
we meet all audit requirements. By strange coincidence my
association with the group dates back to 1977 when, during
submarine escape training, I got to try one of the escape suits
made by our sister company Survitec Group Birkenhead. Outside of
work I enjoy diving, fishing and water-skiing.
Stan White - National Service Manager
I've been with the Survitec Group since September 2016 and I am
the National Service Manager which is a new venture for me. During
September 2016 the opportunity arose for me to join the Survitec
Group, as I have many years' experience in developing, managing
service teams. Now I am set on broadening my knowledge within the
company and offering exceptional service to our customers.
My role involves working closely with various shipping agents to
ensure that ships keep their safety equipment up to date and
serviced. I liaise with the masters of ships, large ocean
going yachts, fishing vessels and other local and foreign vessels
when they're in port.
I enjoy sailing and I have a passion for the open road, and in
my spare time I enjoy riding my motorcycle

same. I have come from a Marine Navigation background of 12 years
and have established excellent working relationships with clients
from both Commercial and Leisure sectors of the industry. During
this time I have assisted clients in navigating our seas both
inshore and offshore safely. My interests outside of work include
most outdoor activities such as water sports and fishing with my

Jason James - Wellington Branch Manager
I jumped aboard Survitec Group in late August 2013 and I am
thoroughly enjoying myself. I have quickly learned that I am
working in an extremely interesting and exciting industry with a
vast diversity of specialised products and interesting clients.
This comes as a huge change after 20 plus years in retail but
already I know it was the right decision. I have found that there
is a lot to learn about the marine and aviation industries but
luckily I have a great team of well experienced colleagues as
In my spare time I enjoy landscape gardening, camping,
surfcasting, barbeques and fishing from our family boat and if I am
not doing one of these activities I am probably walking my
